    A report on multiple discrimination experienced by people belonging to sexual and gender minorities has been published as part of the project Rainbow Rights Promoting LGBTI Equality in Europe, coordinated by the Ministry of Justice. Multiple discrimination experienced by people belonging to different minority, age and disability groups is a sensitive topic that has been researched very little in Finland before this. Information on the forms and consequences of multiple discrimination is needed to enable a more effective intervention in the phenomenon.

  • Sexual minorities in religious communities on the agenda during the Pride week

    An international seminar titled ‘LGBTIQ People of Faith’ will be held in Helsinki on Friday, 29 June, during the Pride week. The seminar is organised jointly by the Rainbow Rights project of the Ministry of Justice, HeSeta, Loisto Settlement and the Lutheran Parish Union of Helsinki. The seminar will address the issue of multiple discrimination faced by people from gender and sexual minorities who belong to religious and spiritual communities.

The preliminary results for all votes placed will be released over the course of the evening. The election results will be updated every five minutes until all the votes have been counted.

    As part of the campaign Discrimination-Free Zone, planned and implemented by the Ministry of Justice together with various organisations, Finnish stadiums are now encouraged to declare themselves to be discrimination-free. The challenge campaign was launched by the Finnish Multicultural Sports Federation (Fimu), which is one of the organisations belonging to the campaign network.
